ATA project manager Tavi Hillesland, Lucy Blake from Northern Sierra Partnership and Jesse White from Timberworks Construction discuss the next steps of the build. The new structures transform a former cattle ranch to provide an exhibit and event space, as well as preserve maintenance facilities. It features passive solar design with south-east facing glass providing a panoramic view of the Valley, and “straw-cell” construction for carbon-storing super insulated walls. The existing structures have been dismantled providing materials for re-use in support structures, including posts, framing and metal siding.
